When hiking alone, tracks on the trail become your hiking buddy. You notice when they slow down, you almost feel sorry for them as the trail gets tougher, when they take a break, you might get a swig of water, and they’re always encouraging you on saying “Hey, I’ve made it this far and I’m still going!” Okay, so the mind starts to drift a little when you’re the only person in miles. Note how I said “the mind” as if I’m not crazy, everyone is like that...

These are actually my tracks though. I only saw the footprints of one other person on the mountain, and he turned around after the first lookout. I knew he would though, seeing as I saw his tracks from coming back down on my way up.

This photo is from a quick hike I took up Gavin on Saturday. This shot is at around 2300 ft I believe, trailhead is at sea level. (yes, that’s the sea there on the horizon) I managed to make it up and back down before my friend finished his SAT’s. While the color isn’t bad, I like the black and while and the contrast boost it allowed.

Near Sitka, Alaska.

So nice... I like the "softness" of the shot which isn't simple with bw photos... Everything clear and calm... Great great great...

A bientôt (see you)
